Windows has now introduced a new ChatGPT app featuring DALL-E and o1 AI models.

OpenAI has recently launched a Windows app for their popular chatbot, ChatGPT. The app is currently in its early stages and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, but it is only available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users. According to an X post on Thursday, the app is compatible with Windows 10 (version 17763.0 or newer) and Windows 11, and comes with OpenAI’s latest o1 language model, which is capable of reasoning but may take longer to answer questions. This delay is seen by OpenAI as a sign of greater intelligence.

Similar to the macOS version, the ChatGPT Windows app allows users to interact with the chatbot in a separate window while using other apps. The app can be quickly launched using the Alt+Space shortcut and users can type queries or upload files and documents for the chatbot to analyze. It also includes DALL-E, a feature that allows the chatbot to generate images.

However, the early version of the Windows app does not include the Advanced Voice mode, which may be added in the full version of the app that is set to be released for all users later this year. The ChatGPT Plus subscription starts at $20 per month, but users can also access the free, limited web version of the platform or use Microsoft Copilot, which is available on newer Windows PCs with a dedicated Copilot key on their keyboards.

Other paid versions of chatbots, such as Microsoft’s Copilot and Google’s Gemini, also cost $20 a month. For those who prefer a free and uncensored AI platform, VeniceAI is also available. Jibin Joseph, a tech news writer based in Ahmedabad, India, recommends using VeniceAI if you do not want your questions to be rejected by a chatbot.

In conclusion, OpenAI’s new Windows app for ChatGPT is currently only available to select users, but a full version is set to be released later this year. The app includes the latest o1 language model and features such as DALL-E, but the Advanced Voice mode is not yet available. Users can access the app through a subscription or use the free web version or Microsoft Copilot. Other paid chatbot options are also available, but VeniceAI offers a free and uncensored alternative.
