The Litera has made a bold decision to bring back Avaneesh Marwaha as CEO, after his previous tenure from 2016 to 2022. Marwaha will lead the company in its epic story of tech company management, fighting against the evil empire of legal inefficiency. His focus will be on optimizing legal workflows with enterprise-grade solutions, integrating GenAI into Litera’s product ecosystem, accelerating user adoption, and driving innovation.
During the past two years, outgoing CEO Sheryl Hoskins has brought a strong focus on operational excellence, building a strong leadership team, and streamlining processes, product portfolio, and customer support. She will continue to advise the Litera board until the end of 2024. In his time away from the CEO role, Marwaha served as Chairman of the Board, focusing on product strategy and M&A.
Hoskins expressed pride in the achievements of the past two years, positioning Litera to adapt to the ever-changing legal tech market. She believes Marwaha’s decades of legal practice and legal tech experience make him the perfect leader to continue investing, innovating, and integrating Litera’s ecosystem of intuitive, AI-driven products.
Marwaha also shared his gratitude for Hoskins’ leadership and the transformational moment that Litera is currently in. He believes that lawyers and law firms rely on Litera to stay at the forefront of technology and adapt it to their work and operations. He is determined to help law firms use their legal expertise and business data to deliver better outcomes and win more business.
While we may imagine Marwaha saying that there has been a disturbance in The Force and he needed to return to bring balance to the legal tech universe, he did not say it. However, it is clear that his return as CEO will bring a new level of innovation and success to Litera.
