This website has been experimenting with different ways to present news digests. Here is a more traditional approach, called News In Brief (NIBs), where multiple stories are condensed into short paragraphs. So, here are your AL NIBs.

– eDiscovery company DISCO has hired Susan Garcia as its General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Garcia previously worked at WebMD, Reuters, and NBC. DISCO has also launched its genAI Cecilia product in Europe.
– Following the success of a genAI benchmarking study led by John Craske of CMS and LITIG, a second study is launching with support from LLM evaluation company Vals, the Legaltech Hub, Reed Smith, Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis, vLex, and others. It is hoped that the two projects can work together efficiently.
– Litigation-focused Opus 2 has introduced new AI features, including GenAI-assisted document summarization and analysis. It has also integrated Microsoft Office into its Opus 2 Cases solution, allowing users to draft and analyze Microsoft documents within the platform.
– Legatics has announced a new feature called “Collate,” which simplifies the process of collating signed pages into a final document. It is also now integrated with NetDocuments for a smoother workflow.
– Consilio has expanded its strategic partnership with Conga, a company specializing in Revenue Lifecycle Management. This partnership will allow for a single open platform powered by a unified data model and AI.
– ADR group JAMS has launched its “Next” project, which provides AI-powered tools and resources for transcription services, an AI-assisted neutral search, and the JAMS Artificial Intelligence Disputes Clause and Rules facility.
– Thomson Reuters is introducing a deeper integration of its genAI assistant CoCounsel into Westlaw and Practical Law. This will allow users to seamlessly use CoCounsel Core skills and create on-page analysis of Westlaw and Practical Law content with CoCounsel.
– Lastly, a big thank you to Jimmy, Beth, and the Legal Geek team for organizing another successful event this week. It was great to catch up with so many people.
